P90X is a revolutionary training that will ensure you will not only be able to grow more resistant to stress and continuous physical effort, but you will also improve your immune system, strength, agility and many other abilities. This is actually an intensive home DVD exercise program that guarantees in the ninety days you will use it, you will have a ripped and lean body.
But keep in mind that this training program is not for those who are faint of heart or people who are not in shape. When you will consider this training program you will need to work around six to seven days a week with each training session lasting between one hour and one hour and a half. You will have to take a fitness test before considering this training program, because the workouts are very rigorous and they will drain your energy very fast. There are other DVDs that will focus on stretching, yoga\abs, cardio fitness, Kenpo kickboxing or just plyometrics.
For instance if you will choose to go with this DVD you will be presented with fifty three minutes of workout that will help you work your chest muscles with variations of the push-up, including the push-ups done with your hands close together, wide stance push-ups and of course, the regular push-ups. The DVD targets your back muscles with variations of the pull-down and pull-up exercises done using resistance bands. You can also do rowing exercises using resistance bands or dumbbells.
This is actually the most intense DVD in the P90X system and it is 59 minutes long. You will have an intense warm-up and after that you will have to go through a series of jumping movies that will work your lower body. That is why you will have to have some good shoes that can absorb shocks well and your landing surface needs to be soft. This is a high impact exercise, so if you have ankle, knee, hip or back problems, you can skip this exercise.
Even if you will take the Yoga DVD, you will still have to go through a ninety minutes long workout that’s quite challenging, especially to those who are not used to yoga. The whole P90X system is based on the concept of “muscle confusion” meaning that it will let you in on a series of exercises that you will have to do for a certain period of time, but not long enough so that your muscles can get used to the routine. Not only that, but this system also has a basis in science. Experts say that exercise programs that use variation have a higher success rate than those who don’t employ variations.
This leads to you over the entire ninety days period of changing your workout routine every three to four weeks. If you are not fit for the program, then you will have to get in shape a little by starting with a least intense program and then come back to the challenging P90X
